Reissue of these two works formerly recorded on LP and cassette. Composed for the "Fireworks Fantasia" for the Centenary of the City of Birmingham, the Firedances* are full of buoyancy, rhythm and melodies which appeal to a wde audience. The Marshes of Glynn** was written in 1986 to celebrate the opening of the Adrian Boult Hall, and is a setting of the long poem by nineteenth-century American poet Sydney Lanier, which extols the beauty

of Nature- the woods, sea and marshes, for which

one yearns when living in an urban environment.

It is a cantata for tenor solo, SATB choir and

symphony orchestra.
